Genre Buzz is an event unique to NVNR , a book conversation among booksellers about recently released and forthcoming books in their favorite genres. This year, NVNR is hosting a Genre Buzz Lunch on Monday, August 4th — a full hour and change for booksellers to sit with their collegues and talk about new and upcoming books in their favorite genre.
There will be tables for Horror, Fantasy, Science Fiction, Mystery/Suspense/Thriller, Romance, Cooking, Religion/Spirituality, In Translation, Children’s, and Young Adult. Printed lists of suggested titles each genre will be available at each table, and can also be downloaded in the event app. Links to Edelweiss collections will be accessible in the event app and via QR code. And genre buzz books are also made accessible to SIBA and NAIBA booksellers who did not attend the conference.
The Genre Buzz Lunch is a keystone in NVNR’s commitment to title discovery, and a tremendous opportunity for publishers to put their books into the kind of "You’ve got to read this!" conversations between booksellers that can launch a book.

Each listing is $50 per genre. Books can be submitted for multiple genres, but will be charged for each list it appears on.
Exhibitors may already have some genre buzz listings included in their exhibit package. Email Kit Little for details on your specific package.
And most importantly, Genre Buzz listings can be purchased without a commitment to exhibit. This makes Genre Buzz one of the few ways publishers can put their books in front of enthusiastic booksellers without being at NVNR in person. Genre Buzz listings are available to reserve via NVNR Exhibit Sales under "Advertising."

Submissions have been streamlined this year and are easy-peasy! To submit their genre buzz books, publishers should create an Edelweiss collection and email the link to Nicki Leone (nicki@sibaweb.com). NVNR will get in touch if there are any questions about the submitted books.
