Sunday, August 2, we will take you to a wide variety of bookstores in Baltimore, including a PW Bookstore of the Year finalist, Greedy Reads. After the store visits, and before the opening reception, we’ll gather all the first-time conference attendees for an orientation and an ask-me-anything. I learn something new every year! Then we will get to meet dozens of authors in the opening reception.
I can’t wait for Monday’s breakfast, where we have more exciting authors and an opening poem by someone I just LOVE. (We aren’t releasing author names just yet, but we always deliver incredible speakers.) Then, a full day of education with topics on everything from profitability, events, industry tools, etc. Get your notepad ready! There will be authors in panels all day long, plus two more author receptions at night.
Wednesday, we start with a Moveable Feast Breakfast, with authors coming to you and sharing their stories. Then, head over to a retreat room where you get to dig deep with those who share your same responsibilities in their store. Whether you are an owner, children’s bookseller, general manager, or frontline bookseller, we have a dedicated space for you. New this year, we added a retreat for event/promotions/marketing staff!
